Mark Remas, MA, CRC, ABVE
Vocational Expert Evaluation and Testimony: Retained expert for plaintiff and defense evaluation of personal injury, labor, medical malpractice, and family law cases. Conduct personal interview or forensic evaluation to determine employability and earning capacity based on educational and vocational history, aptitude testing, and record review. Apply empirical data in a comprehensive vocational evaluation as report, summary of opinions, deposition, or trial testimony. Address employability issues as they relate to the regional labor market. Services have included labor market research to identify specific employment opportunities and to confirm local earnings potential on case specific basis. Confirmed as vocational expert for deposition and trial testimony in Superior, Family Law and U.S. District courts. Appointed Vocational Expert for Office of Hearings & Appeals, Social Security Administration. Affirmed as a vocational expert for the Worker’s Compensation Appeals Board.
Vocational Rehabilitation: Direct caseload of industrially injured workers which includes: aptitude and interest testing; counseling for vocational change; development of realistic goals; job seeking skills training; case reporting; initiate and respond to correspondence with physicians, attorneys, business owners, state agencies, etc. Conduct earnings capacity studies. Supervise and train counseling and administrative staff. Liaison with insurance companies, attorneys, physicians, and employers.
Job Analysis and Job Accommodation: Complete assessment of essential and marginal job functions at job site, review physical or emotional impairment, consult with employer regarding job modification or accommodation in accordance with the American with Disabilities Act and Fair Employment and Housing Act. Assess workstation and job tasks and recommend ergonomic adjustments, obtain materials, and oversee installation or adjustment.
